Stephen Young grew up in Utah, graduated from Utah State University, and later earned his MBA from Duke University — but he’ll be the first to tell you that the most important thing he’s learned has nothing to do with a degree: people deserve an advisor who actually has their back.
Before founding Avari Insurance Group, Stephen spent years in the business world evaluating companies and how they serve their customers. What he kept seeing in the insurance industry was a gap — clients who felt like a transaction instead of a person. So he built Avari around two simple ideas: treat every client like they matter, and never stop looking for better ways to serve them.
At Avari, Stephen works with individuals, families, and business owners across Utah to make sure they have the right coverage — not just a policy. That means taking the time to understand your situation, explaining your options in plain language, and being the person you can actually call when something goes wrong.
When he’s not helping clients, Stephen is out on the Wasatch trails, chasing his three kids around, or finding any excuse to be in the mountains.
